The best free apps for HTC One

I love Android operating system. Compared to iOS, you have more freedom and you can install more apps. But this does not mean you should go crazy and install everything that you can find in Play Store. There are many malicious apps that could steal your sensitive information, your images or your videos and ultimately your mail and Facebook passwords. That's why I'm going to share only the best free apps that you should install on your new HTC One. These apps are created by trusted developers and you don't risk anything by installing them. And above that, they are free!

1. Facebook
Although some smartphones have already a stripped down version of Facebook installed, you upgrade it (or install it from scratch). There is no better social app than Facebook, and a friend of  mine told me a quote that's pretty interesting about this social network: if you're not on Facebook, you don't exist. Check the app in Play Store.

2. Skype
iOS has Facetime, and if you want to compete with that you should go for Skype. The developers are already working really hard on this free app to provide the users with maximum band efficiency and top audio and video quality. The app is free and if you buy Skype credits you will also be able to call landlines or cellular networks. The prices are affordable. If you want to stick to the free version, you can call your Skype friends.

3. Flipboard
If you have a smartphone that's connected to the Internet, you really need this app. It allows you to add your favorite sources (RSS, Facebook, Web Magazines) and create your personalized newspaper. The experience is addictive and once you'll install it, you will use it every day!

4. Firefox / Dolphin
I'm packing these two web browsers together. The default web browser of HTC One is not really that great, and you will definitely find Firefox and Dolphin as great alternatives. Just try any of them and you'll see the difference.

5. Dropbox
This app will save you a lot of time. It's the perfect way to store your personal files in the cloud with password protection. I've been using it for a while and I recommend it to all my friends. You should definitely check this app.

First of all, thank you for taking your time to follow me. I've created this blog from the need to share some of the best apps that I have installed on my HTC One. Before getting into the actual list with the best HTC One apps, I want to state few things about me and this website. I love smartphones from the first generation of Nokia 3310 (although that's not a real smartphone), and I've followed all the trends on the market. My smartphone collection contains iPhones, Samsung devices and HTC devices. Although I have both flagship cell phones from iPhone and HTC, most of the time I use my HTC One when I'm on the go, for various reasons (better battery, better display, better design).
